  1. Well Tagum, I am not familiar with this sight yet so I hope this is the right space for this type of comment. I wrote you about growing 'Beefsteak', tomato's from seeds I received from the US. You said you had poor luck with yours as they would start out good and then take a nose dive. I am sure you have thought of this but perhaps I am onto something. I notice the soil here is quite clay like. It packs hard after a rain and a delicate starter, like tomato, would probably suffer at the root level, at some point, after a number of rains unless precaution was taken. With this in mind I turned my soil, added sand and turned it again. I then threw some nice rich topsoil over that and repeated the sand mixing. This should keep the soil from packing, allow for draining and let the roots breath. Is this something you have tried? I know it's really gardening 101 but very necessary here.

    2. I think you are on the right track..Sand is a must in this clay..I was able to achieve a very rich mix with cow manure,worm cast compost and banana compost...good luck with your gardening..thanks for your questions and comments..Carl
